2026 Portraits
I have always loved looking at old photos, but before a photo can be old, it has to be taken.
If you are interested in becoming part of The Winco Project before it is archived for all eternity, this is your chance. I will be taking a series of portraits, family photos, and candids over the next few months to have an exhibit in July at The Diana in Winchester.
This part of The Winco Project is supported with a grant from the Illinois Arts Council, funding the printing, exhibiting and archiving of The Winco Project. The intention of this part of the project is to generate community involvement and contribution, creating opportunities for connection and adding to the broader community history we already share.
I am not a traditional portrait photographer, in fact, it makes me pretty nervous sometimes. However, I am trying to tell a story about who we are, and I really want to create interesting images that are true to a person (or groups) identity and role within our community. On a personal level, this part of The Winchester Project is a chance for me to get to know my neighbors, to connect with them and learn from them. More than a great image, I want you to tell me a good story that means something to you. I am here for the picture and the lore.
